Simplify the Invites
Multiply the elaborate seven-piece invitation you want and your two hundred guests and you’ve got a staggering 1400 pieces of paper that (let’s be honest) will likely eventually end up in the trash.  Consider simplifying your invitations and subsequently reducing your paper usage; you’ll not only save significantly on cost but reduce your paper usage and the fuel needed to deliver all those printed invites.

Streamline Wedding Travel
Have a lot of out-of-town guests?  Rent a bus, shuttle, or limo to transport guests between the various locations the day of the wedding; from the hotel to the ceremony site to the reception venue and back.  It simplifies things for your guest while cutting back on fuel usage and harmful carbon emissions.

Hire Green Vendors
When selecting wedding vendors, ask if they’re green!  Many vendors follow eco-friendly practices that allow them to reduce their carbon footprint and preserve the environment. For example, many caterers use organic and locally-grown food products or drive vehicles that are hybrid or run on biodegradable fuel.

Use Eco-Friendly Products Whenever Possible
From your invitations to the napkins, try to use recycled, reusable, or all-natural products whenever and wherever you can.  Use organic linens and eco-friendly bamboo serveware at the reception, recycled paper for the invitations, or give guests green favors, such as soy candles.  Whatever wedding product or supply you need, there’s likely a green alternative available.

“Greenify” Your Wedding Gifts
Register at places that offer a wide variety of eco-friendly, organic products sans processes that are harmful or toxic to the environment.  Morever, make aware of your objective and kindly suggest they leave gifts unwrapped or use recycled gift wrap and ribbon.
