Puerto Rico Wedding Photographer Ruben Roman

WedFog - Tell us a bit about yourself.

Ruben - I have been photographing weddings since 1990 and I am hold the PPA Master of Photography degree , Craftsman photographer and PPA Certified . I run my studio with my wife Wanda and My son Ruben Jr. who is also a wedding photographer since the age of 9.


WedFog - Tell us how you got started with wedding photography.

Ruben - I got started back in 1989 -90 . I started out as a wedding Videographer . I saw the way the photographers would shot there images and I would help them with some of the poses. I saw that I could do much more for the wedding couple as a wedding photographer and I join PPA, WPPI, and DWF to learn more photography styles. As a wedding photographer I was much better than a Videographer, I could be more creative.


WedFog - If we were hiring a wedding photographer today, why would we hire you?

Ruben - You would be hiring a well educated wedding photographer from PPA, WPPI, DWF and that is also Certified by PPA . 19 years of shooting weddings in the most modern styles used in today's weddings.


WedFog - What is your favorite part of the wedding day and why?

Ruben - I have no favorite part, I love all the parts. I enjoy the wedding from the minute the bride starts to put her make up until the last dance of the night. I just love shooting weddings.

 

WedFog - Care to share some of your favorite photos with us?

Ruben - "Strip House" I was shooting their wedding at the Hotel and I spotted the Strip House restaurant , I saw the warm lighting and decided to take the wedding couple to that spot shot it with the lighting that was coming from above and only added a video light to fill in the shadows. I entered this print at the 2008 WPPI printed competition and was awarded print Merit.
 

 

 "Our Moment" I was doing a shooting in Old San Juan in Puerto Rico , and I saw the rich color of the old buildings. I ask the groom to lean against the building and I position myself to at a point where I can see those beautiful leading lines and I took the shot. This image was used by WPPI for their 2007 Benefits Accolades Excellence program pamphlet.
 

 

"Love on the Rocks" This was and engagement print that the couple wanted for their wedding. This Image was shot at the beach on the rocks in San Juan. I saw the ocean waves hitting the rocks and the couple really love the water gave the moment a romantic setting. This Image also received a print merit award in the WPPI 2008 print competition.

 

 

Ruben Roman Photographer is based in Bayamon Puerto Rico and is available for travel within the US as well.
