DIY Centerpieces

Epicurious has posted a great little article on Do-It-Yourself centerpieces. In it they offer some great tips such as thinking outside the vase...
"Don't be afraid to consider any container as a possible "vase" when creating an arrangement. Search out ordinary household objects—mason jars, empty cans, teapots, mixing bowls, or baskets—to use as starting points for unique centerpieces."
For those of you planning on crafting your own wedding centerpieces I'd consider this article to be a must read for the special equipment list alone.

Towers of Flowers

Reach for the sky is probably the best advice I've seen for wedding centerpieces and it comes from Lancaster Online. Why is taller better?
"...tall arrangements add a very dramatic look to the tables and the entire reception hall, yet guests can see each other and converse without interference."
Taller and more slender arrangements will also allow your photographer to better shoot around them as well when capturing candid photos of your guests at the reception. Be sure to click on over and read the rest of the article. it's full of excellent tips for planning the look of your wedding reception.
